BOTOX®

Would you like to reduce the appearance of your frown lines, laugh lines, crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles?

BOTOX® treatments at Bellissimo Medical will get you well on your way to looking as young and healthy as you feel!

Contracting of the underlying facial muscles every time you squint, or frown causes these lines. By eliminating the cause of wrinkles, we can help prevent them from returning or worsening. With BOTOX® therapy it is now possible to dramatically soften these lines… and it takes only minutes!

Why undergo surgical correction when you can get the benefits from BOTOX®, a popular non-surgical rejuvenating procedure?

Your BOTOX® treatment will utilize the safest and latest skin revitalization techniques, all under the direct supervision of Dr. Nerette, a Board Certified, a licensed physician who is very experienced in the use of BOTOX® Cosmetic.

Xeomin – The Botox Alternative

Xeomin is used to relax muscles when injected. Xeomin differs from Botox as it is considered to be a pure protein with no additives.

This may lessen the likelihood of your body developing antibodies to Xeomin – meaning if you develop antibodies the product does not work or does not give you the desired effect. The dosing of Xeomin is the same as Botox. Xeomin like Botox lasts approximately 3-4 months and its desired effect usually takes 1-2 weeks.

Xeomin has a dose range that is very safe when injected by a qualified injector. It is only when much more than the recommended dose is used, or the injection is done by an unqualified practitioner that problems with safety can be encountered.

Xeomin is used in the same areas of the face and body as Botox.

Xeomin can be used to treat the wrinkles and conditions listed below:

  • Horizontal Forehead Lines – raise the eyebrows and wrinkles that can form on the forehead.
  • Vertical Frown Lines (AKA 11’s) – furrow your eyebrows and vertical or diagonal lines appear.
  • Crow’s Feet – wrinkles that appear around the eyes when you smile or squint
  • “Smoker’s Lines” – small wrinkles around the mouth when pursing lips.
  • Hyperhidrosis – excessive sweating typically in the underarms

* Individual results may vary

Xeomin is available today in the United States at a few selected highly trained practitioners’ offices before the company’s official launch scheduled for spring of 2012.

Frequently Asked Questions About Botox Treatments

Is BOTOX® therapy safe?

BOTOX® therapy is a simple and safe procedure. It has been used with extraordinary success and safety for a variety of medical conditions since the 1970s and for facial wrinkles since the early 1990s. It is extremely safe with no known long-term consequences after more than 20 years of use. It became FDA approved for treatment of facial wrinkles in 2002, and Dr. Nerette and his team of professionals have been successfully providing BOTOX® treatments to the South Florida area since that time. At Bellissimo Medical, we are committed to performing only those treatments that are clinically proven. Each of our medical experts has been specifically trained to offer you the safest process possible.

What are the side effects of BOTOX® therapy?
Because the effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic are completely reversible, side effects are temporary. Many patients experience minor stinging at the time of injection and short-term bruising of the area is a normal response. On occasion, droopy eyelid can occur, this is temporary and with skilled technique, the chances of this are very small.
Who is not a candidate for BOTOX® injection?
Patients that are pregnant or have neurological problems are not candidates for BOTOX® treatments. However, most patients with wrinkles and lines are candidates. Contraindications generally are minimal therefore making this a suitable treatment for most patients.
How does BOTOX® Cosmetic work?
BOTOX® Cosmetic attacks wrinkles at their source. It partially blocks the nerve impulses to the tiny facial muscles that are related to expression lines. These isolated muscles are temporarily inactivated by the BOTOX® therapy, and can no longer contract. The action of frowning is stopped, and lines diminish by relaxing the facial muscles that create wrinkles
Who performs BOTOX® treatments?
BOTOX® therapy should only be performed under the direction of a licensed physician experienced and trained in the use of BOTOX® Cosmetic.
How long do BOTOX® injections last?
BOTOX® injections are temporary. It typically has its onset of action within a day or two and the effect lasts 3-6 months with individual variations. When the frown line starts to reappear, a simple repeat treatment is all that is necessary to maintain the desired results.
